Kid’s Fishing 2023 Edition

Plans are done, the Kid’s Fishing Derby is on. The community is excited to know we continuing this tradition. We still have a little work to do:

  • Saturday, April TBD 9 am. Come to finish up the facility. We will install the fish dividers and clean up the facility for the event. Bring gloves, weed eaters, lawnmowers, and wooden wedges. Refreshments will be available.
  • Thursday, April 20th 9 am. Come to meet the fish and share them out among the divided ponds.
  • Saturday, April 22, 8 am. Come and host the 73rd Kid’s Fishing Derby public arrives 9 am.
  • Sunday, April 23, 9 am. Come for the clean-up and removal of remaining fish.

January 2022 News

Hope all of you have had a great Holiday Season.  Blackmouth fishing should be open in Marine Area 10.  Hopefully, it will be open for more than a few weeks.  Our hooking encounters of small fish really set us back. If I get out  I’m going to try something different – trolling large plugs and spoons, 5 inches or bigger, to try to reduce the number of shakers I hook. That really helps knock those shaker hook-ups down.
